Everyone has days where you are so busy getting everyone else out the door in the morning there is just no time for your avo toast. But if you have a prepped bag of smoothie fruit ready to go in your freezer, you can have a nutritious smoothie ready in as long as it takes for you to blend the fruit. This recipe makes six portions of a green kiwifruit smoothie, each with at least three portions of fruit! You just need to add some coconut water when its time to blend it all up. 

Makes 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 6 Zespri Green Kiwifruit
  • 3 large bananas
  • 1 tin pineapple or about 300 grams
  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 pack of spinach
  • 6 lunch bags, or preferably 6 small reusable containers
  • 1 carton coconut water
Freezer prep smoothies

Method

Chop up all the fruit and add an even portion to each of your freezer bags. Add a small handful of spinach to each bag and a squeeze of lime juice. Close up the bags and freeze. When you are ready to use each portion take one out of the freezer and add to your blender with the coconut water. Blend until smooth and pour into your favourite takeaway smoothie cup, then rush out the door!
