Here at BayFarms, we pride ourselves in the improvements we have made and continue to make in our sustainability vision, we want to continue this by giving back to a project here in our backyard of Aotearoa through the Dusky Sound Fundraising Project.

$1 from every box of avocados purchased during the month of August will be donated to the Dusky Sound Project to purchase a motion camera worth $1000.

In conjunction with DOC, partners like you, clients,Β and volunteers believe the next step to achieving that vision is to establish a motion camera network on Taumoana/Five Fingers Peninsula (which is part of 21,000ha Resolution Island, New Zealand’s 7th largest island) to establish safe grounds for TΔ«eke/Saddleback, Kākāriki, Kaka, Mohua/Yellowheads, Tomtit, Tokoeko/Fiordland Kiwi, etc to strive as well as future safe grounds for Kakapo. This will support the existing trap network, monitor the recovery of our local birds, and allow us to detect reinvading predators.

Our vision is for Dusky Sound to be one of the most intact ecosystems on Earth, and New Zealand’s largest β€˜bio bank’ – a source of endangered native species that can be sent to pest-free locations throughout the country.

Please help us support this amazing project!
